quote of the day . . .
"STOP SAYING I'M SORRY!"
~ Chad Trost
In your majesty ride forth victoriously in behalf of truth, humility and righteousness; let your right hand display awesome deeds. Let your sharp arrows pierce the hearts of the king's enemies; let the nations fall beneath your feet. Your throne, O God, will last for ever and ever; a scepter of justice will be the scepter of your kingdom. You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy. ~ Psa 45:4-7

Mark 11:24-26 (New International Version)
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive him, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins."
Sorry is a human way of describing the emotional distance between the way things are and the way the Spirit inside you tells you they ought to be. An excess of this sort of describing can be seen in the same way as Lot's wife and her fateful backward glance. Repentence of course is a statement of your resolve to change the actions which are causing the "sorry" feelings in the first place. Perhaps we as Christians should champion the return of the words, (and the action) "I repent" to replace the now nearly useless I,m sorry?
I suppose that this "quote of the day . . ." needs to have a little disclaimer, if you will. Basically, here's the deal - There are some people who have an issue with saying stuff that really they have no reason to say sorry for. Let me give you an example. It would be like if Elise and I were talking as she was telling a story and suddenly realized that she had been telling me this story for like 45 seconds or longer. Then she suddenly had this urge that she was talking too long, or about something really stupid, even though that would not be the case. So, she said, "I'm sorry!" as if she had done something that I needed to forgive her. But, honestly, there was no need to "repent" for telling me a story. It's just the father of all lies concocting this idea into Elise's head that she's talking too much or too boring that anyone would want to listen to her. So, I have resolved to stop saying the habitual "I'm sorry" and started rebuking the deception and I challenge you all to do the same BOLDLY! Thanks Chad for revealing that to us all. We're working on it and as you said last night - WE ARE ON OUR WAY TO CONQUERING IT VERY SOON! VICTORY IS THE LORD'S! ALLELUJAH!
I'm sorry if I misunderstoon you. :-)
NO! Don't be sorry! See, that's the point! Haha, oh well. No harm is done, Brother!
Gotcha!!
That's some of my "engineering" humor (Substitute the word "lame" in place of "engineering" to have the same meaning) showing through. :-)
Keep the thoughts flowing, My Sister. Always good to see what you have to say. God Bless!!
